Reaping

Wandered forth then back
Round a maze
Of faces places and feeling
I was where I do not want to be
Stumbled through a weekend without
A reason for the things I do
Shackled by my inability
To switch gears
Into the settled family life
When the other members are nowhere to be found
Disgusted at the remnant I’d gathered
Disappointed at the crop I’d planted
Weary with the distance from here and somewhere
But knowing so little about where somewhere is
And how to get there
